This is the Home page for the IRESA Tech crosswalks Wiki. General information, announcements, etc., will be posted here for general reference.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Hello, everyone, and thanks for joining the wiki!
I would like to start taking a look at the assignments, projects and other assessments that each program at the IRESA uses to address Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Those curriculum alignments that are already in place will need to be re-evaluated based on the new CCSS benchmarks, but, from what I understand, the similarities should far outweigh the differences. I am hoping that this online collaboration will be helpful as we go forward in this process, since our collaboration on this project will be ongoing as our courses, assignments and assessments continue to evolve.
So, to start with, I was hoping that teachers in each program could upload assignment sheets, guidelines, etc., for the projects and activities in their programs in which students are demonstrating the use of core content-related skills. If you could add those documents to your program page, along with a note about which core content area or areas are addressed in that assignment, that would be helpful. For example: In the Health Occupations program, students may be asked to write a detailed care plan for a specific patient. Please post that assignment document to the Health Sciences page, with a title somthing like "Health Occ - Nursing: Patient Care plan - ELA credit"
My thought process is that if we can collaborate on assignments/assessments, we can clearly demonstrate the use of core content skills in the various programs that our students participate in at the Tech Center.
If you have any questions or concerns about this, please email me. Thanks so much for your contributions to this process!
